Mount the clock movement to the back of the plate, securing it by screwing the spindle onto the handshaft. Make sure the spindle is centered on the plate.

On drives with three or more platters the longest available handshaft is not long enough to protrude from the spindle. In that case the spindle must be shortened and a different means of fastening the movement and spindle to the plate would have to be improvised.
